Career-Focused Training
The Certified Nurse Assistant course is intended to prepare you with the knowledge and skills to successfully perform nurse assisting functions in a hospital, clinic, or long-term care environment. The course emphasizes the role and responsibilities of a nurse assistant as part of a health care team. Topics include the following:
- Vital sign measurements
- Infection control
- Patient observation and charting
- Body mechanics and emergency services
Additional topics include restorative services, working with the cognitively impaired, and resident’s rights and appropriate professional behaviors. Through supervised clinical experience, you will have a chance to gain hands-on practice in the care of patients and residents.
Certified Nurse Assistant Exam Preparation
Following the completion of this course, students will be eligible to complete the Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP), which is the examination used to determine minimal competency in the skills, knowledge, and abilities required to become certified as a nursing assistant.†
Nurse Assistant Certificate Course Outcomes
The course is graded on a pass/fail basis. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be awarded a certificate of completion.
Note: This is a non-credit-bearing course that is not recognized by the School’s institutional accreditor. No academic or transfer credit will be awarded by the School for this course. Students should not assume that this course will be accepted for transfer credit at another institution. This course does not qualify for Title IV federal financial aid funds.
